A global leader in mobility solutions seeks a BU Purchasing Project Professional to manage purchasing activities in San Luis Potosí. The successful candidate will be in charge of budget management, supplier coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the efficiency of purchasing processes in a dynamic automotive setting. Candidates should have a relevant degree and strong project management skills.

Formación

  • Degree in Engineering, Science, or Business with purchasing specialization required.
  • Knowledge of project management in automotive or plastics industries desired.
  • Skills in purchasing, technical negotiations, project management, finance, and cash management needed.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage all purchasing activities related to the program, collaborate with commodity buyers.
  • Establish supplier shortlist, negotiate contracts based on quality, cost, and deadline.
  • Coordinate internal and external activities, track progress, and address purchasing issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all purchasing activities related to the program (excluding CAPEX).
  • Collaborate with the commodity buyer for sourcing activities.
  • Manage the purchasing budget (hours & money) allocated for the project.
  • Manage closed purchase orders for the project and follow the payment schedule.
  • Handle non-event launches related to suppliers.
Sourcing process:
  • Establish the supplier shortlist for the project with commodity buyers, respecting purchasing policies.
  • Gather key information for complex RFQs, identify market constraints, targets, and schedules.
  • Negotiate based on quality, cost, and deadline targets; present sourcing recommendations to the Sourcing Board; draft and implement contracts.
Ordering and payment:
  • Manage purchase requests and orders related to the project.
  • Follow the payment schedule to suppliers.
Coordination & tracking:
  • Identify project risks and opportunities, plan activities, coordinate internally and externally, and track progress until completion.
  • Lead task forces on critical supplier issues and escalate as needed.
Supplier quality & non-event launch:
  • Participate in Supplier APQP project planning and follow-up.
  • Support Supplier Engineers on major roadblocks.
  • Attend launch readiness reviews and address purchasing issues.
  • Implement Tier 2 readiness for non-event launches.
  • Organize project transfer to the commodity buyer.
Project Management:
  • Define initial Statement of Work, including team, budget, and activity split.
  • Lead the extended team activities.
  • Follow up on critical milestones and issues.
Budget management:
  • Validate initial budget alignment with project scope and objectives.
  • Propose adjustments during the project as needed.
Continuous improvement:
  • Contribute to organizational and methodological improvements.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and productivity initiatives.
  • Assist in project closure and provide feedback on best practices and challenges.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering, Science, or Business with a purchasing specialization.
  • Knowledge of project management in automotive or plastics industries.
  • Skills in purchasing, technical negotiations, project management, finance, and cash management.
