To support the growth of our Tropical Corn Breeding Program, we are looking for an experienced and talented Breeder. You will contribute to reaching MAS Seeds' business ambitions for Tropical Corn in Africa and Mexico through the development of performing products and improved R&D processes. You will lead our Tropical Corn Breeding Program, primarily based in Queretaro, Mexico, supported by a trial network across Mexico and Africa, and by our winter generation site in Puerto Vallarta.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead product development from new population initiation to hand-over to product evaluation.
2. Develop significant knowledge of our products & germplasm through extensive field visits to collect phenotypic data.
3. Contribute to design of structured & innovative product profiles through participation in Product team (product evaluation and marketing).
4. Translate product profiles into breeding objectives, product signatures, and decisional breeding schemes.
5. Participate actively in Product team’s and R&D center leadership team’s proposals & decisions.
6. Lead continuous improvement of breeding schemes to increase genetic gain by budget unit.
7. Collaborate closely with the Technology team to improve breeding efficiency through implementation of new technologies.
8. Lead or participate in cross-functional projects within the organization & scientific community.
9. Develop MAS Seeds' visibility & breeding context awareness through a strong network in the plant breeding industry (private & public).
10. Propose, discuss, and respect budgets within the Product team to support breeding objectives.
11. Contribute to people development through line or project management.
12. Apply and respect (ensure) health, safety, environment and compliance guidelines.
