Job summary

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Body in White Underbody Design and Release Engineer for a hybrid role in the Mexico City/Toluca area. You will own the engineering lifecycle for BIW underbody assemblies, including floor pans, rails, and crossmembers, ensuring manufacturability and release from early architecture to vehicle launch.

You will collaborate with CAE, Manufacturing, and Tier 1 suppliers to optimize design, GD&T, and materials while achieving crash, NVH, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Automotive, Materials or related engineering field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Design and Release Engineer within BIW structures (underbody/floor pan/rails).
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, DVP&R and engineering change notices.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and release of underbody components (stamped, cast, hydroformed).
• Manage BOM and variant configurations within PLM platforms.
• Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analyses for fit during body assembly.
• Collaborate with CAE to optimize gauges, materials, welds, and adhesives for safety standards.
• Prepare and approve DVP&R for crash testing and durability programs.
• Drive VAVE proposals to reduce weight and cost while preserving stiffness.
