Job summary

SEGULA Technologies is seeking a Body in White (BIW) Structures Design and Release Engineer in a hybrid Mexico-based role. You will own structural components across upper body, side structure, and closures, coordinating with Vehicle Architecture, Manufacturing, and Tier 1 suppliers to meet strength, crash, and cost targets.

The role requires 3–5 years in BIW, strong GD&T skills, and proficiency with NX/Teamcenter.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in BIW structural design and release.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP, DVP&R processes.
• GD&T ASME Y14.5 proficiency and practical tolerance analysis.
• Strong written and spoken English and Spanish communication.

Responsibilities

• Own BIW structural hardware lifetime management (pillars, sills, crossmembers, roof structures).
• Create and manage complex BOMs, engineering change requests, and official part releases in PLM systems.
• Apply GD&T and perform 3D tolerance stack-up analyses; review CAD models in NX/CATIA for packaging and bodyshop integration.
• Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) for design/build issues during prototype and launch.
• Collaborate with CAE to review FE results and optimize sheet metal gauges and joining layouts.
• Develop and maintain DVP&R and DFMEA documents linking to supplier and plant quality controls.
