Overview
Manage and oversee daily activities of the wood shop, ensuring production schedules are met.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of ~50 furniture manufacturing employees. Foster a positive and safe work environment that encourages accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
- Ensure adherence to production plans, quality standards, and deadlines. Monitor workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Oversee machine operation, equipment maintenance, and tooling to minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure product specifications are met. Act as the main liaison between U.S.-based management and the local production team.
- Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production reports in English. Provide input on staffing needs, material requirements, and process optimization.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in furniture manufacturing operations. Proven track record of supervising teams of 50+ employees in a wood shop or factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, equipment, and processes.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Spanish proficiency preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work cross-cultural and bridge communication between U.S. and Mexico-based teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Background in ERP/MRP systems and production reporting software.
