Overview

The Data & Insight Analyst is responsible for architecting and developing best-in-class and innovative analytics and reporting solutions. This role will have responsibility for establishing and sustaining processes and practices that support Big Data, Analytics, and Reporting solutions and applications in an Open Source environment. The Data & Insight Analyst should have a passion for data, working with business people, and creating solutions and driving innovation with a keen interest in mentoring and elevating other technical resources. The role involves working independently and as part of a team, focusing on specific deadlines within an Agile development process. This role requires fully bilingual English/Spanish capabilities.

Responsibilities

1. Architect and develop Analytics and Reporting solutions.
2. Implement and configure reporting technologies like JasperSoft and Business Objects.
3. Proficient with SQL for databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
4. Design, build, and integrate solutions using Hadoop and open source tools like Pif, Hive, Python, Groovy, etc.
5. Redesign existing reports for enhanced utility and usability.
6. Manage daily activities of the Insights Delivery Unit, focusing on ad-hoc reporting from Hadoop environment and drive automation in reporting solutions.
7. Establish credibility and strong relationships with development teams to review design and code for adherence to standards and best practices.
8. Facilitate and communicate change to promote adoption.
9. Evaluate critical information to understand problems, identify causes, and develop solutions.
10. Assess costs, benefits, risks, and make high-quality, timely decisions.
11. Deliver work using an Agile development process.
12. Maintain documentation including repositories and other relevant materials.
13. Participate actively in brainstorming sessions and contribute to open source projects.
14. Complete responsibilities as outlined in performance reviews and goals.
15. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
2. Must be able to commute to our Mexico City office.
3. 5+ years of experience in advanced analytics.
4. 3+ years as a consultant.
5. 3-5 years in a data architecture role with deep understanding of architecture principles and best practices.
6. Experience in analytics environments.
7. Proficiency with multiple scripting languages such as Groovy, Python, etc.
8. Experience with SQL syntax across various databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
9. Experience working in an Agile environment.
10. Ability to quickly learn new data-centric technologies like Pig, Hive, HBase.
11. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
12. Strong consulting skills to work with clients on reporting needs.
13. Excellent communication skills, clear and concise in verbal and written forms.
14. Ability to share information openly and honestly.
15. Understanding others' perspectives.
16. Ability to prioritize, take action, stay focused, and overcome barriers to deliver results.
17. Adaptability to emerging patterns and changing conditions.

Note: All interviews will be conducted in English.

Base salary ranges from $35,000 to $40,000 pesos per month. Actual offers depend on experience, education, skills, certifications, and business needs.
