As a BI System Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) systems. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and availability of BI platforms, databases, and related infrastructure. Your expertise in BI technologies and strong problem-solving skills will enable you to support data-driven decision-making processes throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, deploy, and maintain the organization’s Business Intelligence (BI) systems, including data warehouses, ETL processes, reporting tools, and analytical platforms.
2. Monitor and optimize the performance of BI systems to ensure data accuracy, availability, and responsiveness.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business users, to understand their requirements and implement appropriate BI solutions.
4. Administer user access, security, and permissions within the BI systems, ensuring data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to BI system functionality, performance, and data integrity.
6. Plan and execute backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical BI data.
7. Conduct regular system health checks, implement system upgrades and patches, and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
8. Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in BI technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve system performance and user experience.
9. Provide technical guidance and training to users, promoting self-service capabilities and best practices in data visualization and reporting.
10. Collaborate with vendors and external partners to evaluate, select, and integrate new BI tools and technologies.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in BI and database administration are a plus.
2. Proven work experience as a BI System Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of BI concepts, architectures, and technologies.
3. In-depth knowledge of BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, and experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
4. Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
5. Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and experience in database administration tasks.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex BI system issues.
7. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
8. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
9. Knowledge of data governance and security principles, ensuring data privacy and compliance.
10. Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with industry trends and advancements in BI technologies.
