The IT Senior Group Manager oversees multiple teams through other managers. They possess an in-depth understanding of their sub-function's contribution to overall objectives and a good knowledge of industry, competitors, and market trends. The role requires strategic direction comprehension, along with solid expertise in the function and related areas. Excellent communication skills are essential for internal negotiations at senior levels, with some external communication involved.

The manager is responsible for executing and implementing the functional strategy, managing budgets, planning, policy formulation, and contributing to future strategies. They have full management responsibility for multiple teams, including performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary actions, and budget approvals. The role typically reports to a C16 role and is a key member of the leadership team within a specific location or business line.

Responsibilities include:

• Aligning systems with business strategy and goals.
• Resolving complex issues using broad understanding across functional areas.
• Understanding how their sub-function integrates within the overall technology function.
• Providing evaluative judgment based on analysis of complex, dynamic situations.
• Influencing strategic decisions and managing resources and budgets.
• Negotiating with senior leaders and external parties as needed.
• Assessing risks and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• 15+ years in multiple technology disciplines with extensive management experience.
• Experience in budget, risk, and control management, and influencing skills.
• Previous managerial experience.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Additional Experience:

• Over 10 years in technology-related roles, with at least 5 in the banking industry.
• Over 3 years managing strategic relationships with Finance and Controlling areas.
• Experience in financial systems projects, ideally implementing financial suites like SAP or Oracle.
• Over 3 years managing operational continuity plans for finance areas.
• Managing teams of more than 10 members for over 5 years.
• Handling investments over US$20 million annually and recurrent expenses of US$10 million annually.
