Job Title: Product Sales Sr Supervisor

The Product Sales Sr Supervisor provides leadership and supervisory responsibility for a medium-sized operational/administrative team of clerical/support employees. The role requires a good understanding of procedures and concepts within the technical/subject area, along with basic knowledge of other areas to understand their relation to the main area. The supervisor should understand how their team and area integrate with others to accomplish the objectives of the subfunction/job family. The role involves improving process efficiencies to support unit objectives and requires a basic grounding in relevant policies applicable to the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are essential for exchanging complex or sensitive information. The supervisor typically manages variable issues with broader business impacts, influences decisions through advice and counsel, and shares accountability for volume, quality, and timeliness of results. This role does not have direct responsibility for financial or resource planning but affects their own team and related work teams. Full supervisory responsibilities include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and directing daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support the sales team in selling products to existing clients through portfolio analysis, needs assessment, and understanding customer risk profiles.
  2. Disseminate industry, financial markets, and competitive product information to facilitate meaningful sales engagement.
  3. Develop and oversee training programs for relationship managers, ensuring successful completion of regulatory and product knowledge certifications.
  4. Organize customer engagement events to build product awareness.
  5. Conduct joint sales drills with relationship managers to promote appropriate product sales.
  6. Enhance the product knowledge of Branch Managers.
  7. Act as the compliance gatekeeper in the region/branch, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  8. Monitor for potential sales complaints, cancellations, surrender ratios, lapse rates, and sales complaints.
  9. Identify and flag potential financial, regulatory, and credit risks to the franchise.
  10. Assess risks associated with business decisions, maintaining compliance with laws and regulations, and escalating control issues transparently. Supervise activities to ensure standards are maintained and create accountability among team members.
Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of financial sales experience preferred.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in sales, knowledge of financial products, willingness to travel, customer service skills, and knowledge of the Government Sector (desirable).
