North American Production Sharing, Inc. is seeking a hardware test engineer to support the bring-up of system-level test HW platforms and handler solutions. You will automate SW test modules, develop test plans, and collaborate with design, verification, and software teams to implement new production test solutions.

Strong debugging, lab measurement, and SoC test experience are essential. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to drive new product introductions and manufacturing

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• 2+ years of hardware engineering, SLT or bench-level testing experience.
• Experience with embedded systems and SoC-level testing concepts.
• Ability to develop or execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal behavior, and power of SoCs.
• Familiarity with source control systems (Perforce or Git).
• Programming in C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.

The Product Development and Test Engineering organization supports design validation, silicon characterization, production test development, and high-volume manufacturing readiness for leading-edge products built on advanced semiconductor process technologies.

The Automotive Product and Test Engineering group is responsible for the various phases in the lifecycle of integrated SOC’s and QAM’s used in IVI, ADAS & Telematics automotive applications. The selected candidate will support the new product introduction (NPI) to production and return material analysis. This includes verification & validation, characterization, qualification, development of high-volume manufacturing solutions, and customer support. The selected candidate will work with global cross-functional teams (SW, System and HW Design, Test, Operations and other engineering organizations) to provide engineering test solutions to drive products to commercialization and production manufacturing.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsibilities for this position include bring up of new system level test (SLT) HW platforms and handler solutions, development and automation of SW test modules, test program integration, optimization of test modules for stability and validation across temperature, developing/executing test strategies and test plans, troubleshooting/analyzing problems, performing systems correlation for power and thermal, evaluating and qualifying HW solutions, debug and failure analysis, and customer support.
• Integrates features and functionality into hardware designs & test in line with proposals or roadmaps.
• Collaborates with teams (e.g., design, verification, validation, software and systems engineering, architecture development teams, etc.) to implement new requirements and incorporate the latest test solutions in the production program to improve the yield, test time, and quality.
• Evaluates, characterizes, and develops the manufacturing solutions for leading edge products and bring-up product to meet customer expectations and schedules.
• Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, and techniques and brings innovation, automation, and optimization to maximize productivity.
• Assists in the assessment of complex design features to identify potential flaws, compatibility issues, and/or compliance issues.
• Writes detailed technical documentation for hardware projects.
• Works independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc. Must be outspoken and self-motivated.
• Tasks require multiple steps, which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in product development, SLT and Bench Level testing, silicon validation, characterization, or high-volume production test for semiconductor products.
• Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems (Android, Windows, Linux, or RTOS)
• Experience with embedded systems, SoC -level testing concepts and AI applications.
• Ability to develop or execute test cases for processors, graphics, memory, thermal behavior, and power performance of SoCs
• Experience reading specifications, creating test plans, and using test sequencers.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce or Git .
• Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Python, C#, or .NET.
• Experience with debugging or triage using Android debugging tools, JTAG, Lauterbach , or Trace32.
• Hands-on experience with lab measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies.
• Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize test data
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and communicate technical information clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of Android system architecture and boot process.
• Familiarity with system-level benchmarks such as Dhrystone and DOU.
• Relevant academic work, projects, or internships in silicon validation, embedded systems, or hardware bring-up.

• Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
