Ford of Mexico is seeking a Supply Chain Operations Risk & Resiliency Specialist to protect vehicle production by partnering with distressed suppliers on-site. You will lead cross-functional teams and implement corrective actions to maintain build schedules.

The role requires extensive travel (up to 100%), weekend support as needed, and strong data-driven problem solving using MS Office and ERP/quality systems.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing operations or supply chain management; 3+ years in leadership or cross-functional roles.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and problem-solving methodologies (8D, etc.).
• Experience with APQP/PPAP is a plus.

In this position. The Ford Purchasing team adds critical value to the entire organization. You'll help us source the highest quality parts and services from around the globe while ensuring optimal cost and on-time delivery. You'll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want. Ford's global manufacturing operations depend on a resilient, responsive supply base - and this role is at the front line of protecting it. As a Supply Chain Risk & Resiliency Specialist, you will serve as a trusted, on-the-ground partner to financially or operationally distressed suppliers, helping them stabilize operations before disruptions can impact vehicle production. This is a high-visibility role for a problem-solver who thrives under pressure, enjoys hands-on plant environments, and wants to see the direct, tangible impact of their work: keeping production lines running and vehicles reaching customers on time.

What you'll do.

• Partner directly with distressed suppliers on-site to diagnose root causes of production or quality risk and develop practical, sustainable corrective action plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, quality, purchasing) to resolve complex capacity constraints and prevent plant disruptions or costly expedited shipping.
• Evaluate supplier production schedules, capacity, and quality metrics to proactively flag risks to Ford's production plans before they escal.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies that safeguard vehicle and powertrain build schedules.
• Translate complex, technical supplier issues into clear, concise updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Travel to supplier locations (up to 100%, including occasional weekends/off-shifts as needed) to provide direct on-site support during critical production and launch periods.

You’ll have.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or supply chain management. 3+ years in a leadership or cross-functional team leadership capacity.
• Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and structured problem- solving methodologies (such as 8D root-cause analysis).
• Familiarity with automotive quality processes such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is a plus.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus (if applicable to the region/role).
• Up to 100% travel required; ability to travel to supplier plant locations when required for onsite support of operationally distressed suppliers. Must be available on weekends as required.
• Ability to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to drive urgency in ensuring Ford supply is protected and worked to resolution.
• Proficient in computer skills -MS Suite/Excel, Data gathering, interpretation & utilization to drive problem solving.

Tools & Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) for data analysis, reporting, and problem-solving.
• Comfortable working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and quality/maintenance management systems (specific systems training provided).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex issues to global, cross-functional audiences.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to manage ambiguity, work flexible hours when needed, and build trusted partnerships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Willingness and ability to travel to supplier sites as needed, including occasional weekend or off-shift support during critical periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree or additional certifications in Supply Chain or Operations Management.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and operational sustainability initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
