Ford Champs in Mexico is seeking a Product Development Champion student to gain hands-on experience in automotive CAD and product development for 12 months. You will work with CATIA V5/V6, TeamCenter, and Vismockup to create robust B2P parts, manage assemblies, BOMs, and interface with suppliers and PD Engineering.

The program emphasizes design reviews and efficiency improvements, with exposure to core tools and automotive systems.

Formación

Active student in Automotive, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering.
Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drafting skills.
Strong engineering fundamentals in Mechanical, Structural, Materials and GD&T.
CAE basics desirable.
Understanding of sheet metal forming, FLD and stamping feasibility.
Knowledge of Core Tools: DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Systems Engineering.
Knowledge of CATIA V5/V6, Team Center, Vismockup.
Systems Engineering approach.

Responsabilidades

Proficiently uses CATIA V5/V6 and similar CAD software to create and manage B2P parts.
Develop high-quality 3D CAD design concepts and alternatives promptly.
Create and manage assemblies, drawings, motion files, and related CAD data.
Manage BOM structures and release processes effectively.
Identify system interfaces and potential design incompatibility using virtual validation tools.
Lead design reviews and visualization or demonstration activities.
Drive resolution of compatibility, feasibility, and functionality issues with suppliers.
Collaborate with PD Engineering to resolve feasibility, attributes, and functional issues.
Apply automation tools, such as IPS, to enhance efficiency.
Demonstrate knowledge of Foundation/Core Tools (DFMEA, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Systems Engineering).
Design components meeting program deliverables using CAD methodologies and standards.
Know sheet metal front end and platform systems requirements.
Show deep understanding of automotive design environments at system and sub-system levels.
Proactively identify and deploy efficiency improvements.
Asks relevant questions and raises valid concerns.
Communicates clearly and concisely with appropriate detail.
