Job summary

AVL, a leading mobility technology company, is seeking a motivated Big Data Engineer in Mexico City to develop and maintain data processing tools, analyze large vehicle testing datasets and deliver insightful dashboards for OEM projects based in Barcelona.

You will collaborate with international teams, apply ETL/ELT methodologies, and advance data-driven solutions across analytics, data engineering and AI concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python with Pandas and NumPy for data processing.
• Familiar with statistics, data modeling, ML/AI concepts.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Matplotlib or Plotly.
• Basic SQL knowledge and Git version control.
• Knowledge of cloud data environments is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to work with international teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain big data processing and analysis tools using Python.
• Process, clean, and transform datasets from vehicle testing using ETL/ELT.
• Perform statistical analyses to identify trends and anomalies.
• Create data visualizations, dashboards and reports.
• Collaborate with AVL engineers and customer teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Automate repetitive data tasks and optimize workflows.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing with data-driven insights.
• Participate in coordination with international teams.
