Flex is seeking a Maintenance Automation Engineer based in Guadalajara to support automated lines and collaborate on automation-sustaining activities. You will troubleshoot equipment, lead CAPA actions, and drive improvements to equipment uptime and process reliability.

Requires hands-on PLC programming, robotics, HMI/SCADA, and strong maintenance experience in high‑volume manufacturing. Travel to other Flex sites or suppliers may be required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, automation, manufacturing engineering or related field
• Hands-on automation, maintenance, test or manufacturing engineering experience in high‑volume manufacturing environments
• Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi)
• Experience with industrial robotics (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA, Universal Robots)
• Experience with HMI development, SCADA, and industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC‑UA)
• Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance methodologies
• Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with safety standards, risk assessments, LOTO and machine safeguarding
• Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes, laser welding systems, and automated assembly equipment would be highly desirable

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify root causes and failures
• Implement cost‑effective corrective actions to restore performance
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance per schedules
• Conduct calibration, verification, qualification, and requalification activities
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, relocation, and decommissioning of equipment
• Develop and maintain maintenance procedures and technical docs
• Investigate failures and implement CAPA actions
• Maintain equipment logs, downtime reports, and performance metrics
• Provide updates on equipment performance, availability, and reliability
• Set up and maintain lab and production test equipment for verification and calibration
• Inspect and calibrate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic components
• Support software and hardware maintenance for automated systems
• Respond to breakdowns promptly and minimize production impact
• Drive automation projects for process optimization and error-proofing
• Support vision systems, robotics, data acquisition, and networks
