Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Specialized Automation and Control Technician in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The role focuses on PLC programming, machine vision integration, and robotics within a heavy manufacturing environment.

You will lead design, deployment, and troubleshooting of automation systems, ensuring safety and efficiency across production lines. A senior technical background and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level or higher technical degree in Mechatronics, Electronics or related field.
10+ years in manufacturing with automated processes.
Proven experience programming and commissioning PLCs in production environments.
Track record with machine vision and industrial robots.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain 2D traceability systems and RFID tagging; integrate with databases.
Configure and maintain label-printing systems and formats.
Design and maintain industrial networks (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS) and diagnose faults.
Develop and troubleshoot programmable safety controllers; design safety systems per standards.
Document architecture, electrical schematics, control logic, pneumatic diagrams, and protocols.
Collaborate with maintenance, quality, production, and process-engineering teams on improvements.
Train operations and maintenance personnel on new solutions and best practices.
Communicate business-related issues or opportunities to management.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
Supervise personnel to ensure adherence to Company guidelines and safety resources.
