Job summary

Covia is seeking a dynamic Control Engineer to strengthen the Automation Team across North Plants—Canoitas, Lampazos, Apodaca and Benito Juárez. You will differentiate automation and control processes, drive standardization, and execute capital projects to boost plant performance.

Responsibilities include PLC/HMI programming, documentation control, and on-site/off-line troubleshooting. Travel to multiple sites is required; a strong background in instrumentation and control systems is essential.

Qualifications

Automation and control / Electrical/ Mechatronics are core fields.
At least 4 years in automation projects plus 2 years in maintenance (within operations / plants).
Familiarity with ISA, ANSI, NEC standards and control theory.
Ability to travel for site support.

Responsibilities

Manage site Automation/Control System policies, procedures and routines.
Develop maintenance plans for instrumentation, control systems and automation tech.
Establish a mid/long term plant needs roadmap to achieve operational excellence.
Develop, update and install machine programs using automation software and ladder logic / SCADA.
Document control for control systems (single lines, wiring, alarms, interlocks).
Draw electrical/mechanical schematics showing process flows.
Install, diagnose and repair AC/DC circuits; troubleshoot VFDs and smart starters.
