Givaudan in Mexico is seeking a skilled Automation/Control Engineer to coordinate maintenance and optimization of automation and control systems across production lines and utilities. You will drive continuous improvement in instrumentation, automation, and control technologies to support site performance, safety, and sustainability.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or process industries, with hands-on knowledge of DeltaV, PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and industrial networks.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, Automation, or Control Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certification in Industrial Automation or Control Systems preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or process industries, preferably in automation and control systems (DeltaV).
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, etc.), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience coordinating technical teams or external contractors.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate and monitor automation and control activities, including DeltaV, PLC, SCADA, DCS, and instrumentation maintenance and programming.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for automation systems to minimize downtime and ensure process reliability.
  • Support operations and maintenance teams in troubleshooting and resolving automation-related issues in production, utilities, and safety systems (Interlocks).
  • Lead control system upgrades and integration projects in collaboration with engineering and IT departments.
  • Monitor and analyse system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure documentation, backup, and version control of automation programs, interlocks and configurations.
  • Manage contractor performance for automation-related services and ensure compliance with technical standards and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical advice to maintenance and operations managers regarding automation implications of new projects or process changes.
  • Coach and develop maintenance technicians and engineers on automation technologies, ensuring safe and accurate execution of tasks.
  • Observe and promote all EHS and cybersecurity rules applicable to control systems and plant operations.

Job Purpose

Coordinate and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance and optimization of automation and control systems to ensure that production lines, utilities, and facility equipment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in automation, instrumentation, and control technologies to support site performance, safety, and sustainability.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage automation and control activities, including Delta V, PLC, SCADA, DCS, and instrumentation maintenance and programming.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for automation systems to minimize downtime and ensure process reliability.

Academic Background
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechatronic, Automation, or Control Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Certification in Industrial Automation or Control Systems preferred.
Professional Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or process industries, preferably in automation and control systems (Delta V).
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, etc.), HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in coordinating technical teams or external contractors.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, and process control principles.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and control systems.
  • Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles.
  • Good understanding of EHS and cybersecurity guidelines for industrial automation.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, SAP, and engineering software tools (e.g., TIA Portal, RSLogix, WinCC).
