Koch looks for an Automated Test Engineer to design testing strategies for high-speed data cables in a mass production setting. You will integrate custom boards and fixtures with off-the-shelf test gear and analyze data to drive quality improvements across global manufacturing regions including Mexico.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams to deploy tests, update software, document procedures, and support continuous process improvements under Koch's

Formación

  • BS degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Systems/Computer) or equivalent.
  • Experience in test and measurement using university lab equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Python programming.
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers.
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR modules, and/or VNA.
  • Knowledge in software development process and/or test system development.
  • Potential domestic/international travel up to 20%.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop production test strategies to support global manufacturing of high-speed data cables.
  • Coordinate deployment of test systems with cross-functional teams; direct resources for compliant use.
  • Develop, integrate, and upgrade software for test systems across regions including China, India, Mexico.
  • Maintain documentation for project execution and schedule.
  • Coordinate software development with design centers (product development, manufacturing, signal integrity, quality).
  • Create and deploy software, conduct reviews, verify systems, and document fault analyses.
  • Create product and test system documentation and work instructions.
  • Support Molex TQM and Quality/Environmental Management Systems per policies.

Your Job

The Automated Test Engineer will develop testing strategies for electrically testing high speed data cables. The test strategies will support manufacturing of High-Speed cable assemblies in a mass production manufacturing environment. The Automated Test Engineer will integrate custom designed circuit boards and mechanical fixtures with off-the-shelf test equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules and network analyzers and analyze test data using statistical modeling tools and perform root cause analysis of rejected parts. Work with multifunctional team members to deploy such testing strategies and equipment. Support development of software to provide integration of custom test requirements and customer furnished equipment including network switches and server emulation hardware.

What You Will Do
  • Develop production test strategies to support global manufacturing of high-speed data cables
  • Manage product testing strategy deployment with multifunctional team members like manufacturing, quality, project management, etc. Direct production test resources to ensure compliant use of deployed test systems
  • Develop, integrate, and make software upgrades to test systems used across multiple manufacturing regions including China, India, Mexico.
  • Maintain documentation for project execution and schedule
  • Coordinate software development activities with design centers, including product development, manufacturing, signal integrity and quality.
  • Create and deploy software, conduct software reviews, perform system verification and validation, analyze and resolve failure modes and document results
  • Create product and test system documentation, specifications and work instructions
  • Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality / Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required by management
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Systems/Computer) or B.S. Degree in an equivalent discipline
  • Experience in test and measurement, can be university lab equipment
  • Working knowledge with compiled programming languages such as Python
  • Knowledge of microcontrollers.
  • Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR modules and/or VNA
  • Knowledge in software development process and/or test system development
  • Ability to apply computer programming concepts to solve complex problems in a variety of programming environments.
  • Potential domestic/international travel requirements as needed (20%)
What Will Put You Ahead
  • M.S. Degree in Engineer (Electrical/Systems/Computer)
  • 2+ years of experience in test and measurement of high-speed products
  • Working knowledge of RF/microwave transmission line theory including s-parameters, Fourier transformers, characteristic impedance, eye diagrams, time-domain analysis, cross talk, bit error rate testing, jitter analysis, etc.
  • Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, 4-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers.
  • Experience with microcontrollers
  • Experience in software development process and test system development
  • Lean/six sigma yellow or green belt training. Understanding and application of control charts, process capability, gage R&R, and other lean/six sigma tools.
