Job Title:

Associate Accountant

Overview:

Overview
The position will be responsible for bank reconciliations, postings into Oracle, income statement schedules, and other accounting activities. This position will report to the Mastercard Transaction Services Accounting Manager.

Role:

  1. Assist in performing accounting activities under direct supervision and guidance; execute routine tasks.
  2. Prepare bank reconciliation schedules for multiple bank accounts across different legal entities within Mastercard Transaction Services.
  3. Verify that transactions have been captured in the Transfast Central (TFC) system and match bank statements.
  4. Compare ending balances in Oracle with bank statements.
  5. Post daily bank transactions in Oracle.
  6. Perform overall bank reconciliation, including 3-way checks between TFC, Oracle, and bank statements.
  7. Manage and oversee the bank reconciliation process for allocated accounts.
  8. Prepare various income statement schedules for MTS US LLC.
  9. Perform any other ad hoc accounting activities or projects.

All About You:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Exposure to issue resolution and escalation processes, such as analyzing financial trends.
  • Participation in process improvement activities.
  • Experience building internal networks and engaging with business partners.
  • Potential exposure to producing internal and external reports.
  • Qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related disciplines.
  • Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software, e.g., Excel and Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Internal Control concepts.
  • Strong analytical, financial skills, and attention to detail, supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a diverse, multi-functional finance team across time zones is a plus.
  • Ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines and collaborate across teams.
  • Independent and proactive worker capable of following up on time-sensitive issues.
  • Effective communicator and team player, capable of developing relationships across organizational levels.
