Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead lean initiatives, design manufacturing cells, and optimize capacity across production lines in the Apodaca, Mexico area. You will drive continuous improvement, cost reductions, and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in assembly/paint processes, strong English skills, and a track record in change management and project leadership.

Qualifications

  • Industrial, Mechatronic, or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • +4 years of experience in assembly and paint processes.
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning and layout.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proven record of successful change management and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Plans and prioritizes work effectively, adapting for changing conditions.
  • Original thinking with the ability to identify problems and generate creative solutions.
  • HVAC experience (preferable).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (preferable).
  • Lean Manufacturing (preferable).
  • Project Management Certification (preferable).

Responsibilities

  • Implements, promotes, and maintains a safe work environment with accidents prevention culture.
  • Manufacturing cell design.
  • Calculate and control optimal capacities of production lines and fabrication processes.
  • Verify Time standards and calculation of earned hours per family products.
  • Facilitating A3 problem solving.
  • Designing future state value streams.
  • Create technical documentation (standard work sheets, OMS, ODS, FMEA, DFAM).
  • Contribute to the advancement of the organization in the JCMS.
  • Support sharing of best practices from benchmarking activities.
  • Evaluate and modify layouts of production lines and cells.
  • Lead and update databases that demonstrate optimal routes, production times, and headcount needs.
  • Work with multidisciplinary groups to implement Lean Manufacturing.
  • Reduce high-risk PFMEA numbers.
  • Drive process-related activities for New Product Introduction.
  • Coach, mentor, and train Manufacturing Technicians.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Whatwill you do?

  • Reduce high-risk priority numbers in manufacturing PFMEA’s.

  • Drive process related activities for New Product Introduction, from early planning stages on into full production.

  • Coach, mentor, and train Manufacturing Technicians within the Manufacturing team

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What are we looking for?
Required
  • Industrial, Mechatronic, Mechanic Engineering Degree.

  • +4 years of experience, in Assembly processand paint process

  • Spoken and written English. Able to carry on a conversation without difficulty.

  • Strong knowledge on elements of continuous improvement, line balancing, capacity calculations, planning and layout.

  • Project management experience.

  • Proven record of accomplishment of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and management continuous improvements and cost reduction programs

  • Strong communication skills

  • Plans and prioritizes work effectively, adapting for changing conditions.

  • Original thinking and an ability to identify problems and generate creative solutions.

Preferable
  • HVAC Industries experience

  • Project Management Certification
