Job summary

Montage International in Mexico is seeking a dedicated Baker to prep, prepare, and execute all pastry items to specification under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef. The role involves producing morning pastries for events and outlets and delivering products to outlets as needed.

You will train new associates on the breakfast station, assist with bread production, maintain station pars for large events, and uphold sanitation and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school degree required or GED equivalent.
• Extensive baking experience.
• Ability to read recipes and follow directions.
• Safely handle knives, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Visual acuity for reading menus and writing orders.
• Ability to demonstrate culinary techniques and sanitation practices.
• Two years of experience in a high-end restaurant.
• Positive personality and good interpersonal skills.
• English language proficiency.
• Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare morning pastries for event and outlets.
• Deliver pastries to outlets and events as needed.
• Train new associates on the breakfast station.
• Assist with bread production: dough mixing, forming and baking.
• Maintain station pars and forecast product needs for large events.
• Prepare food items with quality and consistency.
• Set up station based on menu items and banquet event orders; ensure equipment ready.
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines at all times.
• Inspect all food products for appearance and quality.
• Store food properly in refrigerators and freezers.
