Our client, a trailblazer in automotive innovation, is seeking a highly experienced Remote Automotive Software Architect to lead the design and development of complex software systems for next-generation vehicles. This position is fully remote, offering the freedom to work from anywhere, and is crucial for defining the technical vision and strategy for our software endeavors. You will be responsible for high-level system design, defining software architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of automotive software stacks, microservices, cloud technologies, and modern development practices. Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall software architecture for automotive systems, including infotainment, ADAS, connectivity, and vehicle control.
• Establish software design principles, patterns, and coding standards.
• Lead the technical direction for software development teams, ensuring alignment with architectural goals.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools for software development.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability of automotive software systems.
• Collaborate with product managers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with software development.
• Mentor and guide senior software engineers and technical leads.
• Stay at the forefront of emerging trends and technologies in automotive software and related fields.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in software development, with at least 7 years focused on automotive software architecture.
• Proven experience in designing complex, large-scale software systems, preferably in the automotive domain.
• Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Expertise in embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP).
• Familiarity with automotive software development processes and standards (e.g., AUTOSAR, ISO 26262).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive technical vision and strategy in a remote, collaborative environment.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
