HSBC Global Service Center in Mexico City seeks an Analyst, Financial Crime Detection Analytics to design, develop, and validate US AML transaction monitoring models and related analytics. The role supports the deployment of analytics, governance, and risk management for regulatory commitments.

You will leverage advanced analytics and automation to strengthen controls, deliver quality documentation, and drive improvements across the monitoring stack, while collaborating with diverse teams.

Formación

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Analyst, Financial Crime Detection Analytics.

Role purpose

Support the design, development, optimisation, implementation, and validation of United States Anti-Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring models, ensuring timely delivery of the United States Anti-Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring book of work, required methodology updates, quality control activities, and regulator-driven commitments.

Provide dedicated analytical and technical capacity to support legacy and strategic Transaction Monitoring models, including the deployment of the United States Data Risk Assessment model, while strengthening model documentation, governance, and control execution. The role also contributes to identifying emerging risks, trends, and relevant management information to support methodology amendments and enhance transaction monitoring effectiveness.

Help drive innovation by leveraging advanced analytics, automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, large language models, and other next-generation tools to streamline day-to-day activities, improve quality and consistency, strengthen controls, and create capacity for higher-value analytical work.

Main activities

• Understand and review Anti-Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring models and methodologies to support effective transaction monitoring.
• Understand customer behaviour monitoring and Anti-Money Laundering scenarios, including the mix of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques involved.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and assess their impact on Anti-Money Laundering models.
• Support the calibration of United States Anti-Money Laundering models to enhance risk coverage for the business.
• Identify and develop process improvement opportunities, including automation where applicable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge solutions.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation to support regulatory and internal monitoring and governance processes.

Requirements

• Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering regulations, internal policies, governance standards, and regulatory expectations applicable to United States Anti-Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring models.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and auditable documentation to support model development, methodology updates, quality control activities, governance reviews, and regulatory enquiries.
• Support effective execution of controls, quality reviews, and change management processes related to Anti-Money Laundering Transaction Monitoring models and methodologies.
• Identify and elevate risks, delivery constraints, control gaps, or data or model issues that may impact regulatory commitments or operational execution.
