Job summary

ALTEN Mexico is seeking a Body Design & Release Engineer to lead design, validation, timing, and release of body components and systems for Vision Lighting. The role requires 4+ years in automotive design, with strong CATIA/NX and PLM experience, and advanced English communication.

Location is near Toluca / Mexico City, with a full-time engineering focus and collaboration across cross-functional teams to improve release processes and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in reviewing, validating, and releasing automotive body designs.
• Experience with automotive cameras or lighting is a plus.
• Experience with materials like Steel and Aluminum; welding/riveting/bonding processes.
• Proficient with CATIA V5/3DX or NX and PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, validation, timing, and production release of body components and systems.
• Own Vision Lighting components: Lighting, Headlamps, Tail lamps.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Body Design & Release Engineer to join our team. As a Body Design & Release Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, timing, and production release of body components and systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of body systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the design and release processes.

The area we are seeking currently to cover is Vision Lighting components.

Requirements

The Body D&R Engineer is responsible for the component and system level design, development, validation, timing and production release of the following areas:

• Vision Lighting components:
  • Lighting
  • Headlamps
  • Tail lamps

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 4+ years in reviewing, validating, and releasing designs for automotive components (Body).
• Experience or advanced knowledge on automotive cameras and/or automotive lighting is very valuable
• Experience or advanced knowledge with materials such as: Steel, Aluminium.
• Experience or advanced knowledge in the following processes: welding, riveting, clinching, bonding, laser brazing, paint process
• CATIA V5/3DX or NX (for 3D/2D model review).
• PLM (Teamcenter) (documentation and release management).
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R, and technical sheets management.

Language:

Advanced English (technical comprehension and international team communication).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
• Knowledge of style freeze processes and theme evaluation.
• In-plant experience (tool tryouts, assembly, program launch).
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949).
