Job summary

Jobgether SRL, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking an Expert Team Lead, SWE based in Mexico. This hands-on leadership role focuses on building and maintaining high-quality human-generated data that supports advanced AI model development.

You will guide a team of AI Tutors while staying directly involved in reviewing, evaluating, and improving technical work. The role blends people leadership with data quality, operational excellence, and software engineering.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in data labeling, annotation, AI training or evaluation.
• Experience building scalable, high-performance software applications.
• Understanding data quality metrics and annotation workflows.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and model performance impact.
• Experience with people management, coaching, training-program development, or certification frameworks.
• Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Experience with distributed teams and remote/hybrid models.
• Strong organizational skills and proactive problem-solving.
• Expertise in at least one technical domain (finance, STEM, coding).
• Passion for developing high-performing teams and scaling data operations.
• Eligible country including India; remote arrangements may be possible.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned human data projects, reviewing technical work and ensuring accuracy.
• Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of AI Tutors and support development.
• Participate in labeling, annotation, evaluation, and review activities to maintain high standards.
• Establish QA processes, taxonomy standards, workflows, and evaluation criteria.
• Monitor KPIs such as quality scores, throughput, and send-back rates; identify bottlenecks.
• Develop training materials, practice exercises, and certification benchmarks.
• Partner with data managers, team leads, and engineers to translate model requirements into labeling strategies.
• Foster a high-performance culture through coaching and development.
• Document outcomes and communicate status, risks, and results to stakeholders.
• Represent AI Tutor needs and collaborate across the organization.
