The Advanced Sourcing Manager will participate in on-site supplier assessments to verify supplier capacity and capabilities to support on-site as needed. The primary duty of this position is to provide support in the selection and development of Milwaukee Tool's key suppliers through manufacturing efficiency. This position will develop action plans and drive implementation to close supplier gaps to fulfill the order demand within the specific quality level and volume time frame.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain broad functional exposure across supply management activities, including supplier qualification and performance management.
- Evaluate supplier capacity from early stages of selection, validate capacity plans, and verify at each stage as needed.
- Collaborate closely with sourcing commodity managers to identify gaps and develop new suppliers that meet Milwaukee standards, including regulatory requirements.
- Drive improvements in supplier delivery and capacity issues by developing efficiency plans.
- Ensure suppliers perform MFA Manufacturing Feasibility Analysis and Risk Assessments for all projects and engineering changes.
- Understand current and potential capabilities of suppliers and communicate findings to sourcing managers.
- Gather and analyze supply market intelligence to support commodity category management and risk mitigation.
- Identify key suppliers and assess their locations and performance rates.
- Analyze market trends, including pricing and costs, and compare supplier offers to market averages.
- Evaluate potential future supply limitations and the impact of global capacity on pricing and availability.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes affecting the supply chain and procurement processes.
- Conduct benchmarking to ensure value received from suppliers aligns with industry standards.
- Identify leverage points and strategies for negotiations to secure better terms.
- Provide data to support operational decisions, budgeting, financial targets, and technology investments.
Tools You Bring With You
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Knowledge and experience in manufacturing processes across all commodities.
- Ability to investigate and identify potential vendors effectively.
- Decide on vendor capacity and capability, particularly for manufacturing Milwaukee Tool parts.
- Interpret part drawings and understand engineering and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure project goals are met.
- Strong problem-solving skills and leadership in project management.
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Ability to recommend improvements supporting cost reduction initiatives.
- Fluent in English, both speaking and writing.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.

- Professional society or organizational certifications.
- Experience with ISO-9001, IATF16949, VDA 6.3, CQI process auditing.
- Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is desirable.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision, motivated to build organizational capacity.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, competitive environments.
