Formación

Description

If you are an experienced Test Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow. Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Chihuahua, Mexico location. A focus on developing global test standards, continuous improvement, project management, and technical leadership is required. A background in controls and electronics manufacturing is highly desirable. You will support all Copeland Electronics and Controls facilities, contract manufacturers, and suppliers in test process improvements.

As An Advanced Manufacturing Test Engineer, YOU WILL

  • Oversee the design, development, and validation of new testing equipment and testers to meet product requirements.
  • Develop and implement test engineering standards, encompassing in-circuit testing, AOI, functional testing, vision systems, automated programmers, and Hipot testing.
  • Support creation of test design documentation expectations for new product development (NPD), comprehensive test maintenance program, test programs, etc along with validating using effective auditing to ensure compliance with Copeland test expectations and continuous improvement.
  • Support global alignment and consistency across test engineering teams and resources.
  • Participate and facilitate design reviews for testers, test programs, and test fixtures to ensure test meets design, quality, and efficiency requirements.
  • Administer test engineering training program, offering training for all levels—from entry-level skills to advanced techniques in AOI, Hipot, ICT, Vision, Functional test development, and other test types depending on the business requirements.
  • Provide test guidance and oversight to Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers to guarantee the highest levels of quality and minimize the risk of escapes.
  • Develop and support comprehensive audit tester program maintaining consistent design standards, validation procedures, maintenance protocols, and tracking systems. Utilize the program and standards for audit tester builds
  • Implement a tester and fixture refurbishment program with a focus on creating new, industry-leading standards.
  • Collaborate with the AME Automation team to integrate appropriate levels of automation in new product developments and refurbishments.
  • Develop and implement test data standards, ensuring alignment with digital transformation efforts to foster a data-driven, action-oriented culture.
  • Support quality in the creation of yield improvement plans that are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely (SMART). Validate plans using effective auditing.
  • Collaborate with plant technical team members to align with long term test goals and capabilities.
  • Create inputs to and implement solutions from a tester technology roadmap using input from the plant technical team, strategic direction from supervisor, and individual research.
  • Promote and share test engineering best practices across the organization to drive consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and partnership, encouraging active engagement across teams and departments.
  • National and international travel to trade shows, customer sites, other Copeland manufacturing locations, supplier sites, as needed to further the mission of Copeland test engineering.
  • Design, build, and program testers using applicable tools, machines, and programming languages to ensure test meets product requirements and data reporting requirements using MES systems and ensuring Copeland quality standards.
  • Champion contracted test equipment from initial supplier engagement to proper implementation into the production process in plant using robust request for quote (RFQ), factory/ site acceptance checklists, and ensuring proper handoff to plant.
  • Participate in design reviews for products as the production test representative giving input to the design for test.

Required Education, Experiences & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experience in test engineering (ICT, FVT, Vision)
  • Knowledge of industrial automation technology
  • Experience with electronics manufacturing including SMT, wave solder, in-circuit test, and functional test
  • Experience reading electrical schematics
  • Fluent in English to work with US based company

Preferred Education, Experiences & Skills

  • 6+ years’ experience as a Test Engineer
  • Programming experience with LabVIEW, CVI LabWindows, Python, VB, MATLAB, C++, Java, and Ladder Logic
  • Experience in mechanical equipment design using 2D and 3D CAD programs such as DraftSight, NX, and similar
  • Understand performing FMEA
  • Working knowledge of PPAP and statistical process control
  • Ability to travel internationally 15%
