An innovative multinational company is seeking an Adv. Trademark Assistant to support their Global Legal Service Center. The role entails monitoring trademark infringements online, managing databases, and tracking trademark registrations. Ideal candidates will hold a law degree, have 3-5 years of relevant experience, and possess strong analytical and organizational skills. This is a full-time position based in León, Guanajuato, without offered relocation assistance.

Job Description
Adv. Trademark Assistant
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

The Adv. Trademark Assistant will be part of the Global Legal Service Center (GLSC) and will support the Trademark Work Group, which assists 3M to obtain, maintain, and enforce 3M’s brands.

The Adv. Trademark Assistant will report to the GLSC Trademark Work Group lead and work closely with the Global Trademark Team. The Advance Trademark Assistant is an experienced Intellectual Property professional with substantive knowledge of trademark frameworks across different geographies.

Responsibilities
  • Online Enforcement
    • Conduct regular reviews of URLs, websites, and e-commerce platforms that may infringe 3M trademarks.
    • Execute manual searches for trademark misuses on various websites and search engines.
  • Domain and Website Monitoring
    • Review and manage 3M owned domain names to prevent unauthorized use.
    • Review and research evidence/documents to analyze the overall fact pattern of claim and synthesize data to establish a case.
  • Database Management
    • Utilize the trademark brand protection database for tagging and updating.
    • Maintain a portfolio of domains and social media accounts.
    • Manage and prioritize a large and varied case load effectively and efficiently.
  • Copyright and Compliance
    • Review images and content for unauthorized use.
    • Conduct status checks for compliance of enforcement matters and ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Renewal of 3M’s trademark assets globally
    • Work with the Global Trademark Team and 3M’s businesses to confirm mark is in use for the goods and services provided and renew the mark in various governmental offices around the world where the mark has been registered.
  • Trademark Docketing
    • Track and manage the statuses of trademark applications and registrations, including tracking deadlines, filings, office action responses from governmental agencies to maintain 3M’s trademark rights.
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in law with high academic credentials from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of trademark prosecution and/or watch notice experience.
  • IP Management System experience, preferably Anaqua and trademark brand protection databases such as Corsearch.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and online brand monitoring tools.
  • Strong analytical, communication, attention to details and project management skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to establish priorities, balance multiple tasks and deadlines at one time and effectively manage competing priorities.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role
  • Certifications or additional qualifications in IP.
  • Experience in working in teams.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
  • Experience in Multinational Corporations in a similar field of expertise.
