Job summary

The role analyzes financial performance, prepares management reports, coordinates quarterly close, and leads key projects within SAP while promoting accuracy and compliance across reporting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Passed CPA or CMA exam or MBA coursework preferred.
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a plus.
• Strong IFRS and GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expertise in IFRS and GAAP reporting requirements.
• Monitor changes to reporting requirements and implement updates.
• Prepare and review quarterly/annual financial statements, schedules, disclosures.
• Analyze financial performance vs. plan and prepare management reports.
• Provide financial reporting training and collaborate on SAP-related closes.
• Coordinate quarterly and annual close schedules and SAP postings.
• Lead projects and ensure accuracy and compliance in reporting.

Job Summary

Develops and maintains technical expertise in IFRS and GAAP financial reporting for Farmers Group, Inc, monitors and implements needed changes to reporting requirements, prepares or reviews various disclosures, exhibits and schedules included in the annual and quarterly FGI financial statements, prepares and/or reviews analysis for management, and leads special projects.

Essential Job Functions

• Develops and maintains expertise in IFRS and various government reporting requirements.
• Monitors changes to reporting requirements and recommends and implements changes.
• Prepares and reviews various quarterly and annual financial statements, schedules, exhibits, and disclosures.
• Analyzes financial performance compared to plan and prepares reports to management.
• Provides financial reporting training and development to FAR staff.
• Coordinates the quarterly and annual close schedules.
• Manages the calculation and posting of quarterly ZIM entries.
• Coordinates the preparation and release quarterly and annual FGI financial statements.
• Manages the preparation of new accounts, closing of the current month and various projects for SAP.
• Reviews information directly from the Supervisor in the section.
• Leads projects as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals.

Education Requirements

Bachelors degree required in Accounting, Finance or related field. Preferably have passed 1 CPA or CMA exam or have completed 2 MBA or Master courses. Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred.

Experience Requirements

External candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of prior Accounting or Finance experience. The same time-on-job requirement is preferred for internal candidates.
