Position: Accounts Payable & Travel Expenses Manager

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of a team of 5–20 in Accounts Payable and Expense departments
  • Support the establishment of a strong control environment aligned with company policies
  • Review and authorize invoices and payments for accuracy and timeliness
  • Set and monitor goals for the accounts payable team
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings related to accounts payable
  • Handle escalated vendor and internal inquiries
  • Assist with financial audits of accounts payable
  • Manage employee expense report audits for compliance and address escalations
  • Lead training on the Concur expense system and best practices
  • Conduct compliance audits of expense reports and address discrepancies
  • Oversee corporate credit card ordering, monitoring, and adjustments
  • Track metrics, meet KPIs and SLAs, and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Train and evaluate AP and T&E staff performance
  • Coordinate with departments for seamless processing
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years in accounts payable, expense auditing, or financial management
  • 2+ years in a management role
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience managing teams in high-volume environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or Chartered Accountant designation

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with financial software and Oracle
  • Expertise in payables and expense processes

Languages

Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written) for Mexico

Work Arrangement

This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence at least three days per week. Collaboration and flexibility are essential to adapt to business needs.
