Manages all aspects of the legal entity accounting and compliance, including taxation. Ensures timely, accurate accounting that follows US GAAP and local IFRS standards, aligned with company policies. Provides guidance across functional areas, collaborates on decision-making and forecasting, and works directly with country statutory auditors.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting required.
- Over 8 years of experience in Accounting and Compliance, including 5 years managing an accounting team.
- Strong understanding of local IFRS and knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience in multi-currency, multi-country environments.
- Experience managing local ledger/GAAP software per regulations.
- Previous roles involving statutory audits, tax, and compliance for small country operations.
- Knowledge of local tax rules and experience preparing individual returns.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proactively identify solutions.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- People management experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with HQ revenue accounting team; prepare customer contract revenue checklists.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Propose journal entries for correct accruals and adjustments, including tax concepts.
- Ensure proper accounting for local payroll and employee taxes.
- Run preliminary P&L and balance sheet reports; prepare variance and forecast analyses.
- Assist treasury with local regulations impacting transactions and fund movements.
- Maintain internal controls and segregation of duties.
- Support statutory financial statement approvals and filings.
- Review IFRS accounting policies for updates.
- Prepare and review indirect tax filings (VAT, withholding taxes, municipal taxes) and ensure timely submission.
- Manage corporate income tax return schedules and lead annual tax filings.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on transfer pricing and audits.
- Oversee import and nationalization controls, coordinating with supply chain and logistics.
- Supervise local vendors and support customer invoicing processes for tax compliance.
- Monitor SG&A expenses and support P&L forecasting.
- Lead team goal setting, delegation, and performance reviews.
- Review indirect taxes and balance sheets prepared by the team.
