Accounting/Payroll Analyst

Primary Purpose of the Position:
Prepare, analyze, and check calculations of payroll costs, including but not limited to: vacation, termination, time and attendance, monthly payments, and taxes, always in accordance with internal rules, legislation, and collective agreements.
Conduct internal audits of payroll payments monthly and annually.
Ensure the accuracy of payroll operations, timely employee payments, manage payroll accounting functions, reconcile accounts, and advise on payroll-related laws and regulations.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process payroll: Verify and process payroll transactions, including garnishments and deductions.
- Reconcile accounts: Reconcile payroll accounts and balance commission years between payroll and accounting systems.
- Prepare reports: Generate payroll audits, garnishment reports, and accounting documents.
- Research laws: Stay informed on state and federal laws to ensure compliance with compensation policies.
- Analyze remuneration: Review and recommend improvements to company remuneration structures and policies.
- Communicate: Inform employees of payroll changes and serve as a liaison between departments.
- Maintain records: Keep accurate payroll records and design databases to organize payroll data.
- Calculate, analyze, and verify social charges, ancillary contributions, payroll, vacation, severance, and other related routines accurately and timely.
- Prepare reports supporting payroll calculations to comply with finance, internal controls, and government requirements.
- Review base salary changes before final calculations for associates, students, apprentices, and expats to ensure correct payments. Submit all tax obligations on time, including IMSS, ISR, ISN.
- Ensure delivery and signing of pay slips. Clarify payroll calculations to employees as needed.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
Education:
Required: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll or personnel administration.
- Over 2 years in payroll implementation projects.
- Over 3 years handling local taxes and obligations.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP and ADP payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll analysis and calculation processes.
- Knowledge of tax obligations and legal payroll requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and computer skills.
- High attention to detail.
