Job summary

Flex in Guadalajara, Mexico, seeks a Cost Accountant to join our Finance team. You will prepare and maintain accounting records, support month-end close, and provide insights to improve cost control in a manufacturing environment.

You will reconcile accounts, analyze variances, collaborate with operations, and ensure compliance with policies. Bachelor’s in accounting or related field required; advanced English preferred; CPA/CMA a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Manufacturing Accounting.
• Advanced English in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• CPA, CMA, APICS, or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic review of Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts to ensure postings align with Policy, Process and Procedures.
• Compare Actual with Forecast / Quote and research variances; post adjustments as needed.
• Collect business reasons for variances and report appropriately.
• Reconcile Balance sheet accounts with sub ledgers to identify variances; address them in books.
• Review accounts periodically to identify risks and mitigate them.
• Ensure timely completion of book close related/reporting activities with accuracy.
• Collaborate with Operations to prepare Forecast/Budget for related accounts.
• Work with Operations to improve business/operational metrics.
• Familiar with Controllers Handbook and RCTS regulatory/reporting requirements.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Cost Accountant located in Guadalajara, Campus. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Cost Accountant will in charge of preparing and maintaining accounting records and researching and interpreting accounting records to give advice or prepare statements.

What a typical day looks like

• Perform periodic review of Profit and Loss (P&L) account to ensure that all the postings are done as per the defined Policy, Process and Procedures.
• Compare the Actual with Forecast / Quote and ensure that the variances are properly researched and required adjustment postings are done in the books.
• Collect the business reasons for the remaining variances and report appropriately.
• Reconcile all the scoped Balance sheet accounts with sub ledger/manual schedule to identify the variance, if any and ensure that those variances are properly dealt in the books of accounts.
• Review the accounts on periodic basis to identify any potential risk and ensure that the same is mitigated properly.
• Ensure that all the book close related /reporting activities are properly planned and executed on timely basis with utmost accuracy.
• Work with relevant teams to prepare the Forecast / Budget for the related accounts.
• Work along with Operations team to improve the business / operational metrics.
• Be familiar with relevant Accounting, regulatory and reporting requirements in the Controllers Handbook and RCTS.

Experience we’re looking to add to our team

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Manufacturing Accounting.
• Advanced English (Manufacturing Environment preferred).
• Experience with month-end close Account reconciliations.
• P&L Analysis, Budgeting, Forecasting, Financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables) and database management experience.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably BAAN V5.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• CPA, CMA, APICS, or similar certification is a plus.
