An AC/Refrigerator Mechanic is responsible for maintaining all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment and installations in good working condition by carrying out necessary repairs and preventive maintenance.

What will I be doing?

As an AC/Refrigerator Mechanic, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Report to the A/C and Refrigeration Technician/Foreman regarding daily work progress and trouble report completion.
• Attain all refrigeration and A/C trouble reports on a daily basis. Guest room trouble is given priority.
• Work closely with A/C and Refrigeration Technician/Foreman and peers to carry out preventive maintenance and the annual maintenance program.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, departmental procedures, and instructions.
• Carry out all other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

In addition to performing essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time dedicated to each determined by the supervisor based on company requirements.

• Read building, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical drawings.
• Fault find and repair air-conditioning, refrigeration, and building control systems. Good electrical knowledge required.
• Knowledge of BMS systems.
• Experience with reciprocating chillers, air handling plants, and cold rooms.
• Familiar with planned preventive maintenance and safety programs.
• Flexible team player, able to work independently.
• Good understanding of water treatment techniques and chemical handling.
• Conduct periodic inspections to ensure refrigeration equipment functions properly.
• Perform guest room maintenance as per schedule.
• Collaborate with electricians for electrical work when required.
• Maintain refrigeration log sheets and record temperatures daily.
• Assist peers in their tasks when requested by the supervisor.
• Keep tools in good condition and maintain a tidy work environment.
• Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.
