ALTEN Mexico is seeking an Intermediate System Requirements Engineer – Infotainment Subsystem to serve as the bridge between Design & Release Engineers and System Architects. You will define and manage technical requirements, ensuring traceability with IBM DOORS and RTC, while integrating CAN/LIN vehicle interfaces and CarPlay/Android Auto features.

Formación

  • 8+ years in definition, management, and elicitation of requirements.
  • Experience with IBM DOORS for requirements management.
  • Solid knowledge of SDLC and system design practices.
  • Familiar with DFMEA and reliability analyses.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder interviewing.

We Are Looking For Systems Requirements Engineer ADV
Intermediate System Requirements Engineer – Infotainment Subsystem

Acts as the key liaison between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects, ensuring that technical and regulatory needs are translated into clear, specific, and actionable requirements for the design, development, validation, and release of vehicle electrical and electronic components.

Utilizes Requirements Engineering methodologies to elicit, analyze, document, and maintain system requirements. Experienced in specialized tools such as IBM DOORS for requirements management, IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) for workflow control, and JIRA for issue tracking.

Collaborates closely in system design and development, actively participating in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Applies analytical methods such as DFMEA to ensure the quality and reliability of the infotainment system, including the integration of advanced technologies such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Activities
  • Requirements Definition & Management
  • Write, update, and maintain technical requirements for the Infotainment subsystem (and Cabin Thermal & Safety, as applicable) throughout production phases.
  • Conduct requirements elicitation through stakeholder interviews and workshops.
  • Utilize IBM DOORS for requirements management and traceability.
  • Systems Analysis & Design
  • Perform system requirements analysis using established engineering methodologies.
  • Collaborate in the design and development of infotainment hardware and software systems.
  • Support system modeling and architecture activities.
  • Technical Coordination & Liaison
  • Act as the key link between Design & Release Engineers (DREs) and System Architects.
  • Work cross-functionally with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure correct hardware–software integration.
  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve hardware and software system failures.
  • Apply diagnostic tools to detect and address technical issues.
  • Project Tracking & Workflow Control
  • Use IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC) and JIRA to manage workflows, tasks, and issue tracking.
  • Contribute to the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for infotainment components.
  • Quality Assurance & Risk Analysis
  • Conduct thorough testing to validate system functionality and reliability.
  • Perform DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential design risks.
  • Technical Documentation
  • Create and maintain detailed records of diagnosed issues, implemented solutions, and established requirements.
  • Prepare and update technical documentation, including specifications and reports.
Requirements
  • University Degree (Bachelor’s or Engineering) in related fields such as: Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering
  • Requirements Engineering: Intermediate level (8 years of experience in definition, management, and elicitation of requirements).
  • Requirements Management with IBM DOORS: Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • Workflow Control with IBM Engineering Workflow Management (RTC): Intermediate level (5 years of experience).
  • Issue Tracking with JIRA: Intermediate level (6 years of experience).
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • Diagnostics and Troubleshooting (HW/SW): Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • Systems Engineering Methodologies: Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • Vehicle Communication Protocols (CAN, LIN): Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • Embedded Systems Knowledge: Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • DFMEA Analysis: Basic to Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS): Basic to Intermediate level (8 years of experience).
  • CATIA V5: Basic level (2-4 years of experience in model visualization or review).
  • Knowledge of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto: Intermediate level (4 years of experience in integration or validation).
  • Programming Languages (Python, C/C++): Basic level (4 years of experience for scripting or automation).
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Safety Regulations: Basic level (4 years of experience).
