Job summary

Responsibilities include maintaining vCenter/HA/DRS, ensuring DISA/STIG compliance, and coordinating with cross-functional teams on projects. The position is full-time and on-site in Kuwait.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the virtual environment and ensure HA/DRS and vCenter operations.

• Manage NSX, SAN/Storage, and networking components within virtualized infrastructure.
• Coordinate with Virtual/Windows teams on projects and support.
• Draft diagrams of virtualized environments in Visio within 7 days.
• Provide SME-level expertise and resolve escalated virtualization issues.

Qualifications

• Camp Arifjan, Kuwait Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree (Will accept Associate's and 4 additional years of experience or High School Diploma with 8 additional years of experience)
• RHCE and either VCP6, NCDA, or VCIX
• Years of Experience: 3+ years' IT experience
• Clearance Level & Investigation: Secret IA Cert Level (DoD 8570.01): IAT III
• Computing Environment Certifications: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and either Virtual Certifications (VCP6), NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), or Virtual Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX)
• Minimum of 3 years of I.T. experience engineering I.T. solutions for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and CPN-X (or other Coalition network environments).
• DoD 8570.01 M compliance for IAT Level III with a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) with one of the following Virtual Certifications (VCP6), or NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA), or Virtual Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX) and the current USARCENT virtualization and storage area network management solutions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and assist on tasks to operate and maintain virtual environment.
• Ensure tools and applications assigned are compliant with DISA STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guide), IAVAs (Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert), and local, HHQ, and DOD policies.
• Operate and maintain High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), vCenter Server, cloud and virtualization Operations Management, Virtual Converter, cloud and virtualization clusters, Virtual Update Manager, Virtual Distributed Switch, Cisco 1000v dv Switches, storage, NetApp storage platforms, Fiber Channel, Fiber Channel over Ethernet, iSCSI, Network File System, Logical Unit Number / Aggregate sizing, and Input Deliverables Per Second.
• Successfully coordinate with other teams on Virtual/Windows server projects and operations support.
• Manage SAN replication and snapshots.
• Identify potential virtual system configuration issues and proactively perform maintenance to resolve or improve system performance.
• Manage ESG, LDR, DFW, NSX managers, Universal Routing, traffic flow, spoof guard, and other NSX components.
• Operate and maintain existing Photon OS instances within cloud and virtualization family.
• Manage system hardware, including routine maintenance and RMA/replacement of failed hardware; and provide virtual networking guidelines and standards.
• Draft diagrams depicting virtualized environments when requested within 7 days using Microsoft Visio.
• Design virtualized topologies that leverage existing cloud and virtualization products.
• Provide SME-level expertise and resolve escalated Virtual errors found.
• Leverage PowerShell/ Scripting to create scripts in PowerCLI & PowerNSX.
• Provide expertise on Representational State Transfer (REST) commands in cloud and virtualization product family.
• Generate white papers on how to integrate new Virtual solutions within CENTCOM AOR.
