Job summary

The Aircraft Mechanic II – Powerplant/Engine Back Shop position at Amentum is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of T700/701C/D, T55-714 engines and auxiliary power units, including AVUM/AVIM and depot tasks.

Role requires disassembly/inspection, blade work, hot section checks, and engine removal with quick-change assemblies on UH-60, CH-47 and AH-64 platforms. 5 years’ experience and US security eligibility are needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 5 years of recent aircraft maintenance experience required.
• With A&P: 2 years aviation maintenance experience on UH60, CH47, AH64; without A&P: 3 years on these MDS.
• Must possess a valid US passport for international travel.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance.
• Must be able to obtain Kuwait visa.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of major assemblies and subassemblies of the T700/701C/D, T55-714 and auxiliary power units.
• Inspect engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks.
• Perform blade blending and blade replacement in cold section of powerplants.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as generators, alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves.
• Ability to perform hot section inspections and determine replacement of hot section components (GG rotors, stators, fuel injectors, igniters, power turbine).
• Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
• Perform engine removal, replacement, reinstallation, and quick-change assembly (QCA) maintenance tasks.
