Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice level professional to support deployments to CONUS/OCONUS locations and ensure airworthiness of aircraft and systems. Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and overhauling engines, power plants, and control systems, using hand tools, gauges, and test equipment, with emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires the ability to interpret technical orders, perform maintenance at the flight line, and demonstrate the ability to work

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; relevant military/vocational training is acceptable.
• Minimum of one year of actual Aircraft Mechanic maintenance experience required.
• Must possess basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair and familiarity with technical publications.
• Must be able to deploy to forward locations and meet pre-deployment requirements.
• Candidate must be able to lift, carry or wear equipment over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and maintenance on aircraft and major components.
• Repair, replace, and overhaul aircraft structures, engines, and sub-systems.
• Use test equipment to analyze airframes, engines, and flight control systems.
• Work with limited supervision and as part of a deployment team.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and inventory of parts.
