Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic Apprentice-level position to support deployments and maintain aircraft systems across CONUS/OCONUS locations. The role requires interpreting technical orders, manuals, and performing maintenance using various tools and test equipment to ensure airworthiness.

Typical duties include servicing engines, inspecting power plants, and replacing components. Candidates must meet clearance and deployment prerequisites and be able to travel or relocate as required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.
• Minimum of one year of actual Aircraft Mechanic maintenance experience.
• Must possess basic knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft mechanical maintenance.
• Must be able to Deploy to Forward Locations (other countries) as Directed by the Government.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily launch/recovery duties in support of operational requirements.
• Inspects, services, repairs, and overhauls aircraft equipment, engines, and sub-systems to ensure serviceability.
• Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, landing gear, power plants, fuel systems, and related components using hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctions, isolates causes, and corrects breaks; tests engine operations to locate sources of malfunction.
• Must be able to work with little-to-no supervision and perform all other duties as assigned.
