Job summary

Amentum seeks an experienced Aerostat Operations & Sustainment Lead to supervise crew, manage spares and maintenance, and coordinate reporting for PSS-T deployments. The role requires strong troubleshooting, hardware expertise, and leadership across a challenging OCONUS environment.

Responsibilities include LRD duties, system repairs, and ensuring safety compliance while deploying to CENTCOM, EUCOM, and AFRICOM as needed. Amentum offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Requires 3 years aerostat experience and 4 years technical experience in specified disciplines.
Active Secret US Government Clearance; US Citizenship required.
Valid U.S. Driver’s License and passport valid for at least 6 months.

Responsibilities

Supervise the execution of the assigned work schedule and related crew duties.
Maintain spares, helium, POL, vehicles, and all site/system material requirements.
Ensure maintenance activities are performed on time and addressed.
Submit customer and TCOM written reports on site/system operations.
Troubleshoot, repair, modify and improve hardware systems; interface with TCOM and customer personnel.
Perform Launch and Recovery Director duties including weather and pre-flight checks.
Direct post-flight maintenance and repairs (e.g., tether replacement, helium replenishment).
Adhere to site safety, security, and operating policies across all phases of aerostat operations.
Carry out corrective and preventive maintenance on avionics, fiber optics, site electricals and sensors.
Read schematics and engineering data; maintain site documentation and logs.
Operate special purpose vehicles and train lower classified technicians.
