Job summary

Client of Hudson Manpower in Kuwait is seeking a hardworking Commis III for the Continental hot kitchen to assist senior chefs and learn modern culinary techniques. You will help prepare diverse dishes, manage mise en place, and ensure food quality and safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of Continental cuisine, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively with a team.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Continental cuisine and hot kitchen operations.
• Previous hotel/restaurant/kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen hygiene.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior chefs in the daily preparation and production of Continental hot kitchen dishes.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, measuring and portioning as required.
• Assist in preparing soups, sauces, pasta, grilled items, vegetables and other Continental dishes under supervision.
• Follow standard recipes, portion sizes and food preparation procedures.
• Maintain mise en place and ensure all ingredients are ready for daily kitchen operations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen workstations and equipment.
• Follow food safety sanitation and storage procedures.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage and rotation of food items using FIFO First In First Out.
• Minimize food wastage and maintain consistency in food quality.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods and perform other duties assigned by the chef.
