System Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading grocery brand, is looking for a POS System Engineer to support the implementation and delivery of the new XGen POS system.

This role operates within the Point of Sale (POS) space and requires strong knowledge and experience with POS systems. The primary focus is on implementing the new XGen POS system, a Linux-based NCR solution, across five grocery brands, with the current emphasis on Food Lion. The position is hybrid in nature, combining remote work with on-site responsibilities at the Salisbury Executive Office and the Morrisville, NC Sim Center to support implementation, testing, and operational readiness.

• Extensive POS experience, preferably with NCR systems
• Strong hardware installation skills, particularly self-checkout systems
• Proficiency in API calls and scripting, with Python preferred

• Prepare labs and set up hardware for QA and smoke testing
• Collaborate with store personnel during store visits for pilots and installs
• Manage multiple shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
