Job summary

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA‑accredited library school (or related master's with substitution).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an academic or health science library.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively and promote the library.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultations, instruction and outreach on scholarly communication topics to Yale medical campus affiliates.
• Guide researchers on journal selection, open access options, and public access requirements from funders.
• Assist researchers in evaluating journals, identifying predatory practices and interpreting quality indicators.
• Promote use of ORCID and researcher profiles; support bibliometrics and alternative metrics for impact assessment.
• Collaborate with CWML and Yale Library teams on scholarly communication initiatives and open access projects.
• Support data sharing, transparency and reproducibility in collaboration with librarians from CWML and other units.
