Job summary

WM is seeking an Onboarding, Developing, Coaching, Mentoring, and Performance Manager for drivers and helpers. You will spend the majority of the day in the field with frontline employees, building positive relationships and guiding daily operations on-site in New York.

The role emphasizes coaching, performance management, onboarding, and safety. It requires leading by example, ensuring regulatory compliance, and aligning with the WM Way to drive improvements and service excellence.

Qualifications

Associate's Degree or higher, or high school diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience.
Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Driver's License valid upon hire.
Successful completion of WM Operations Manager Trainee program.

Responsibilities

Onboard frontline employees with tools, instruction, and feedback for daily duties.
Meet with new frontline employees daily to support onboarding.
Provide timely and consistent touchpoints with frontline employees.
Regularly review best practices to enhance daily performance.
Support frontline employee career goals and progression.
Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with frontline staff.
Lead coaching conversations and model safety practices.
Teach and reinforce the WM Way across teams.
Conduct root-cause investigations for injuries/incidents and ensure retraining when needed.
Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies (e.g., DOT).
Review route operations documents daily and follow up as needed.
Visit customers/sites to evaluate safety and service options.
