Job summary

Nunez Community College is seeking a Library Aide to provide customer service in circulation and technical services. You will assist with item checkout, reference tasks, interlibrary loan processing, and training student workers during a 10:00 am – 7:00 pm Mon–Thu schedule and 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Fridays.

This role requires teamwork, strong communication, and multitasking abilities, with a focus on professional conduct and confidentiality in a campus library environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required
Two (2) years of clerical experience required
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or Business Administration
Experience with library catalogs/databases is advantageous
Ability to use Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace effectively
Ability to assist students with digital literacy tasks
Familiarity with library procedures and interlibrary loan processes

Responsibilities

Verify information using databases, catalogs, and indexes
Explain library policies to patrons
Handle serials check-in and claiming
Collect and report library statistics for the Head Librarian
Perform routine acquisitions, process invoices, and manage records
Provide reference assistance to customers
Coordinate scheduling of Isleños Museum and Archive events
Train student workers and supervise tasks
Oversee distribution and return of student laptops
Process interlibrary loan items and interactions with partner libraries
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Dean
