Job summary
FVRLibraries is seeking a full-time Senior Public Services Librarian at Vancouver Community Library in Vancouver, WA. The role prioritizes teen and new adult services, delivering reference, readers advisory, and program services in person, by phone, email, and chat.
The position includes supervising staff, coordinating programs, and developing partnerships with schools and community groups. The schedule is Tue–Sat with competitive hourly pay and strong benefits.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or ability to obtain Washington State Librarian certification upon hire.
- Minimum of three or more years of related work experience, including customer service experience.
- One or more years of supervisory experience or lead worker experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide general and specialized reference, readers advisory and material selection assistance to library patrons.
- Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate branch and community programs for specific age groups or all patrons.
- Supervise assigned staff; mentor, evaluate and provide performance feedback to staff, volunteers and substitutes.
