Job summary

The City of Seattle is seeking a dynamic Teen Services Librarian for the Central Library’s Children and Teen Services Department. You will lead teen programming, manage collections, and provide reference and readers’ advisory services in person and online.

We value inclusion, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration with community partners. The role emphasizes serving unhoused teens and young adults, with a schedule that supports community needs at the Central Library.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited library school.
• Washington State Librarian Certification required by state law.
• At least 1 year of information services experience for the general public.
• Minimum 1 year of programming experience for teens/young adults.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and develop community-focused programming for teens and young adults.
• Maintain collections and provide reference help and readers’ advisory in person and virtually.
• Provide teen services support for the Central Library and Downtown Seattle.
• Collaborate with local community partners and the Social Services Team as needed.
• Cover information service points throughout the Central Library and ensure welcoming public environment.
