Job summary

Keysight is seeking a Wireless Protocol Software Engineer in Italy to translate evolving 3GPP specifications into system‑level configurability. You will develop robust APIs for UE and base station emulation, work close to standards, and contribute to pre‑6G activities within a multi‑site international environment.

You will collaborate with systems, RF, protocol, UI and customers to reproduce field issues, debug complex behaviors, and deliver fixes with strong root‑cause discipline.

Qualifications

• Strong 3GPP LTE/NR protocol knowledge.
• Experience with API management and 3GPP protocols.
• Proficiency in C++ and C#.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, documentation, testing and debugging.
• Experience using Swagger.
• Strong software development and debugging skills.
• Experience in multi-site distributed engineering environments.
• Clear English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and optimize APIs for system‑level configurability.
• Validate 3GPP protocol configurations, focusing on RRC configuration.
• Support UE and base station emulation environments.
• Contribute to pre‑6G standards and evolving requirements.
• Translate requirements into clear designs, tests, and maintainable components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reproduce field issues and deliver fixes.
