Job summary

Generative Bionics S.r.l. in Genova, Italy seeks a Software Embedded Engineer to develop firmware for wearable sensing devices.

You will work on low-level software powering sensors, wireless modules, and device management, collaborating with electronics, hardware, and software teams to deliver robust, production-grade firmware. You will design real-time software architectures, implement drivers, validate on hardware, and help optimize power, timing, and data integrity across distributed devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1+ years of embedded software development experience with C/C++.
• Experience with RTOS, device drivers, and hardware interfaces.
• Good English written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for microcontroller-based wearables.
• Develop interfaces and pipelines for sensors (IMUs) ensuring data quality and synchronization.
• Create real-time software architectures with RTOS, manage tasks and interrupts.
• Develop and debug drivers and hardware abstraction layers for custom electronics.
• Implement BLE/Wi-Fi and low-latency wireless protocols and data exchange.
• Support timestamping, clock synchronization, buffering, and distributed device coordination.
• Firmware debugging and validation using JTAG/SWD, scopes, and logic analyzers.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve system reliability and CI processes.
