Thompson Rome is seeking a dynamic Commis de Rang to join the pre-opening Food & Beverage team in Rome. The role reports to the Maitre and focuses on delivering exceptional guest service while maintaining brand standards.

You will work with outlet colleagues to provide consistent service across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, supporting events and high-volume periods, with a strong emphasis on hygiene, upselling, and guest satisfaction.

• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related hospitality environment.

• Seats and serve food and beverages to guests according to established sequence and procedures. Helps on taking orders when required.
• Present menus, answer guest inquiries, and make recommendations regarding food, beverage, and service
• Clear and reset tables at the conclusion of each course
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, presentation, and service throughout operations
• Knows how to use the Micros system
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items on the menu, and the ability to recommend combinations and upsell alternatives when required
• Provide a welcoming and professional service to guests during breakfast, lunch, and dinner
• Support special events and high-volume service periods
• Ensure compliance with service and hygiene standards at all times
• Promote a guest-focused and service-driven culture within the outlet

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Commis de Rang to join our Food & Beverage Thompson Rome Pre-opening Team!

Reporting to the Maitre, the ideal candidate will maintain positive guest and colleague interactions, building strong working relationships while ensuring excellent customer service. With a natural flair for lifestyle hospitality and strong communication skills, the Commis de Rang works closely with outlet’s colleagues in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of our Guests.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related hospitality environment
• High standards of personal presentation and grooming
• Strong knowledge of menu items and beverage offerings
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining composure and objectivity
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented mindset
• Knowledge of the city of Rome and history
• Native or Fluent in Italian and English. Any additional language is a plus
• Flexible and supportive team player with a positive attitude
